Nimmakayala Chinarajappa is an Indian politician and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The 61-year-old minister was born to Shri N. Venkata Rangayya. His self-profession is agriculture and his special interests lies in social activities and swimming apart from politics. He is a post graduate and holds a master’s degree in Arts. He took interest in politics since his college days. He got married to Smt. N. Anuradha who is a homemaker and supporter and strength of Chinarajappa. He is currently the Member of Legislative Assembly of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and acts on behalf of Peddapuram Assembly Constituency of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He served as the district president of Telugu Desam Party for two decades. He is the holder of the portfolios like Deputy Chief Minister, Disaster Management Minister and Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Nimmakayala Chinarajappa was a member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council from 2007 to 2013 and has been a member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly since 2014. He took the oath as the Chief Minister and Home and Disaster Management Minister on June 8, 2014. Previously he inaugurated the gold plated entrance of the much talked about shrine of Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy on the top of the hillock of Ratnagiri at Annavaram in Andhra Pradesh on December 1, 2015. He ordered the officials investigating the Call Money scandal on December 13, 2015, to book the wrongdoer without taking their status into consideration. Nimmakayala Chinarajappa while speaking to the media said that the government has given instructions to the police to conduct a fair and thorough inquiry into the Call Money scandal and arrest all the accused in the case. In October 2016, he got injured in a lift accident at Sanjeevani Hospital in Kakinada. He suffered injuries to his legs and was treated at the same hospital where he had gone to meet those affected by carbon monoxide gas leak in a factory in East Godavari district
