Ram Naik took the position as the 24th Governor of UP. He took office on 24th July 2014. He was a candidate from the BJP party representing the constituency of Mumbai North but lost to the very famous Indian Bollywood actor Govinda. Ram Naik was a member of the 13th Lok Sabha and was the Minister of Oil and Natural Gas (1999-2000).
