The Chief Minister of Goa is basically the chief executive of the south Indian coastal state of Goa and Diu and Daman territory. He is the elected head of government of the state and the de facto executive authority rests with him as per the constitution of India. Dayanand Bandodkar of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party became the first chief minister of Goa. Shashikala Kakodkar was the only woman chief minister of Goa who succeeded his father Dayanand Bandodkar. Goa became a state when it was served by Pratapsingh Rane of the Indian National Congress (INC) who also happens to be its longest serving officeholder. He held the office for over 15 years across four discontinuous stints. Laxmikant Yashwant Parsekar took his oath on 8 November 2014 as the Chief Minister of Goa and he belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

    As i am a resident of Nuvem panchayat our street lights are not working .specialy in the isolated areas wich is very dangerous to specially women who have to walk to their home after work as the electricity department for last 8 years just give escuse that they dont have crain to fix the lights
