Bombayla Devi Laishram aka Bom is an Indian archer. She has been representing India at international events since 2007. Born in Imphal East in Manipur on February 22, 1985, Laishram made her national debut in 1997. In 2008, She represented India at the Beijing Olympics in the women's individuals and also as team events along with Dola Banerjee and Pranitha Vardhineni. They were ranked sixth in the team event qualifiers. She bowed out in the second round of the women’s individual recurve event at the 2012 London Olympics, losing 2-6 to Aída Román of Mexico. India lost in the first round to Denmark in the team event. She was also a part of the team that qualified for 2016 Rio Olympics. Bombayla Devi Laishram, Deepika Kumari, and Laxmirani Majhi were in the Indian women's recursive team and they finished 7th in the ranking round. The team won their match against Colombia in the round of 16 but lost the quarterfinal match against Russia. Their rivals in the Rio Olympics were Chang Hye-jin of South Korea, Laurence Baldauff of Austria, Lin Shih-chia of Chinese Taipei and Alejandra Valencia of Mexico. She finished 24^thin the Ranking Round in Olympics with a total score of 638 and ranks 69^th in the world. She was honoured with Arjuna Award in 2012. Jamini Devi, being a local archery coach and Manglem Singh, a state coach for Manipur’s handball team.She started archery at the age of 11 and later started training at the Sports Authority of India. She went through six stages of trials before being selected for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Since making her debut for India in 2007, she has won several medals that include four gold medals, five silver medals and four bronze medals at the Archery World Cup at its various stages. She faced Laurence Baldauff of Austria in the Women's Individual Round of 64 in the 2016 Olympics and won the match. In the Round of 32, she faced Lin Shih-chia of Chinese Taipei and again won the match but she lost the match in the round of 16 against Alejandra Valencia of Mexico.
