Kulkarni’s first stint with the stage was during his High School. After that, Atul regularly participated in Maharashtra State Drama competition. Between 1989 to 1992, he won Awards for acting and as well as for Drama direction. Later during his college days, Atul actively participated in cultural gatherings. During his studies, he joined, Natya Aradhana, an amateur theatre group from Solapur. Atul was enacted in Gandhi Viruddh Gandhi, the play made later famous through Dilip Prabhavalkar in Marathi professional theatre circuit until the mid-90s.
Atul has been serving himself as President of Quest Education Support Trust. Quest Trust invests in running workshops and enabling teacher, to support education for children for marginalized communities between 3-14 years, all those activities mainly held in the state of Maharashtra. It conducts their activities in the Marathi language. Atul Kulkarni is always active for sharing his knowledge on running NGO with other NGO’s like Snehalaya. He is also involved in environmental projects, making a 24 acre barren land in Satara District into the Green Land.

Atul Kulkarni is an Indian actor who was born on 10 September 1965 in Belgaum, Mysore State, India. Atul acted in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Odia and in English language films. Atul Kulkarni has completed his secondary education from Haribhai Deokaran High School, Solapur, Maharashtra. After that, he did his junior college from Belgaum and completed his graduation in English literature at D.A.V College, Solapur. In 1995, Kulkarni received his diploma in acting from National School of Drama. In National School of Drama, Kulkarni met with theatre actress Geetanjali with whom he married.
