Anamika Khanna is an Indian Fashion Designer with her own label who has been covered by the Business of Fashion as the Indian designer. She has blended tradional Indian textiles and techniques with Western silhouette and tailoring. Khanna was born on 19 July 1971 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. She began her career in 1998. She was invited to Pakistan in 2003 for displaying her bridal collections as a part of Bridal Asia. In 2004, Khanna became the first designer who launched her own international label “Ana Mika”.
In 2005, she participated in Will’s
Fashion Week and there she showcased her collection. Khanna took part in
numerous fashion weeks including London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week (2007),
HDIL India Couture Week (2008), Lakme Fashion Week (2009), London Fashion Week
(2010), Lakme Summer Resort (2011), Delhi Couture Week (2012), PCJ Delhi
Couture Week (2013), India Couture Week (2014), Lakme Fashion Week (2015),
India Couture Week (2016) and India Couture Week (2017) etc.
Her collections were an amalgamation of the
various rituals of the Indian Weddings. She touches the height of success because
of her weaved in traditional crafts as the bride is new age, modern, educated
and mind of her own. In her career, Khanna won several awards including
Texcellence Award, FICCI Award, Marudhar Gaurav Award, Export Council Award,
Fashionably Yours Award and Indian Affairs Fashion Designer of the Year 2017
etc.
