Ajinkya Madhukar Rahane famously called by his nickname; ajju aka jinx by this family and friends is an Indian cricketer of international level and also hold the position of vice-captain of the Indian cricket team for test matches.
This talented cricketer was born on 6th June 1988 and is currently 28 years old. Ajinkya’s birth took place in Ashwi KD area of Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra in a Maratha family of Mr. Madhukar Baburao Rahane and Mrs. Sujata Rahane.
He has two younger siblings, sister Apurva and a brother Shashank. Ajinkya took coaching from a former Indian batsman Pravin Amre until the age of 17.Rahane completed his school studies from SV Joshi High School, Dombivli. Rahane showed a great performance in Indian U-19 tour in New Zealand in early 2007 and made two centuries during that tour. His performance was highly appreciated by the selectors and subsequently, he was selected for playing Mohammad Nissar Trophy in Pakistan.
At the age of 19, Ajinkya scored a century with a total of 143 runs against Karachi Urban in his first-class debut for Mumbai against Karachi Urban in the Mohammad Nissar Trophy in September 2007, at Karachi.
His first international debut was against England in a Twenty20 International at Manchester in August 2011.Rahane played his first Test match in March 2013 in Border–Gavaskar Trophy though he had his first test match century against New Zealand at Basin Reserve, Wellington.
When skipper Virat Kohli suffered a shoulder injury in 2017, Rahane performed greatly as the captain of the team in the fourth Test against Australia and the team also had a victory in that test match.
In one day international cricket, Ajinkya made his debut as a replacement to Virender Sehwag against England at Chester-le-Street. He has also been a part of Mumbai Indian IPL Team and then subsequently joined Rajasthan Royals. With the team of Rajasthan Royals, Rahane got opportunities to open the innings and showed great performances.
