Aamir Khan Production (AKP) is an Indian motion picture production and distribution company which is based in Mumbai city in India. The company was established in 1999 by one of the renowned actor Aamir Khan. The first produced by this Production House was the film “Lagaan”. Aamir khan himself started production of the film “Lagaan”, when the screenplay was not purchased by any other production house. The film was critical as well as a huge commercial success and was also nominated for the Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language Film Category. This film has won many key awards at several award functions such as Filmfare and IIFA. Shrinivas Rao served as the executive producer for Khan’s directorial debut, “Taare Zameen Par” and become the executive producer for this production company, who is now supervising in all of its production. Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao has also worked as an associate producer for the film “Taare Zameen Par”. The movie was critically acclaimed and won many awards in the award functions like Filmfare Best Movie Award as well as a number of other Filmfare and Star Screen Awards. The movie tells about a young child who suffers in school until a teacher realises him as a child suffering from dyslexia. The child actor was played by actor DarsheelSafary and another prominent actor was Tisca Chopra. The latest move by the Aamir Khan Production is Dangal which starred Aamir Khan himself along with Sakshi Tanwar. It is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, and Siddharth Roy Kapoor has produced this film.
